The dashboard answers one question per widget: is my help center working, and where should I look next? This article goes widget by widget. For how the dashboard is laid out, see Get to know the admin dashboard; for filters and layout, see Customise your dashboard.
Which widgets you see depends on your role, your plan, and the features you have enabled. The widgets in Content performance follow the knowledge base and date range you pick at the top of that section; the ones under Support & contacts are always live and company-wide.
Content performance
| Widget | What it tells you | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Views | Total article views in the window, with a trend against the previous window of the same length and a sparkline of the daily shape | A sudden drop usually means a link or navigation change on your site, not a content problem. Compare the sparkline to your release dates |
| Content health | How many articles are Published, Drafts, and Archived, with a bar per knowledge base | A growing drafts count is unfinished work; pick a day to publish or archive them |
| Article performance | Most viewed ranks your top articles by views. Rewrite candidates lists articles with at least 20 views, at least one vote, and a helpful rate below 50% | Rewrite candidates are the highest-value edits you can make: lots of readers, and they are leaving unhappy. Open the article's stats page for the detail |
| Content gaps | The top zero-result searches | Each row is an article request. See See what readers search for and find nothing |
| Chat & AI agent (needs AI support agents) | Sessions and Messages with your agent, Deflected by AI (the share of sessions that never asked for a human), and Handed off, split between the widget and help-center chat | A low deflection rate means visitors are asking things your articles do not cover. Read the handed-off conversations in the inbox and write what they asked for |
| Changelog pulse (only when the selected knowledge base is a changelog) | When you last published an update and how many drafts are waiting | If the last update is marked stale, ship a draft |
Support & contacts
| Widget | What it tells you | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Support (needs the inbox) | Counts of open requests that link straight into the filtered inbox, your most recent conversations, and for admins a Performance block with first response time, resolution time, and resolved count | Anything unread or unassigned is the first job of the day. First response is approximated from when the request was opened |
| Contacts (admins, needs the inbox) | How many people have reached out, how many are new this week, and whether they came via inbox or chat | A jump in chat contacts alongside a low deflection rate points at the same missing content |
Workspace and the attention strip
Admins also see Workspace summary, Recent activity, and Integrations (the health of your Linear connection and custom domain). Above everything, the Needs attention strip appears only when something needs a look: unread requests, doc suggestions, pending invites, a Linear connection that needs reconnecting, or a changelog that has gone stale. Each pill links to the place to fix it.
