The AI article assistant drafts, improves, extends, and reviews articles from inside the editor. It is off by default, so before anyone on your team sees the AI button, an owner or admin needs to enable it and, ideally, describe your company so the output sounds like you rather than like a generic help site.
Enable the assistant
- Go to Settings > AI article assistant.
- Click Enable AI assistant (or switch the Enable AI article assistant toggle on).
The AI button appears in the editor header for everyone on the team, and the empty-article prompt starts offering AI Assisted as a way to begin.
Write your company context
Company context is a free-text description that every AI request reads: generating, improving, adding a section, getting feedback, and fixing feedback items. The more specific it is, the less generic the output. The field prompts you for:
- Your company name and what you do
- Your target audience
- Product names and key terminology
- Your preferred tone and writing style
- Topics or phrases to avoid
Writers can leave Use company context switched on or off per request in the rail, so nothing here is forced on them. Changes save automatically.
Set a default tone
Default tone pre-fills the Tone option whenever someone generates an article. Individual writers can still pick a different tone for a given article.
The monthly AI limit
Every AI feature in HelpBento draws from one monthly allowance per company: generating, improving, adding sections, feedback and Fix with AI, and the AI chat agent on your public knowledge base. When the allowance for the month is used up:
- The assistant rail shows Monthly AI limit reached with a View plan & billing link, and AI requests from the editor are declined.
- The AI chat agent stops answering visitors until the next cycle.
The allowance resets each month. To raise it sooner, move to a plan with a higher limit; see Manage your plan: overview, upgrade & downgrade.
