Get to know the admin dashboard

Getting Started2 min read · Updated 2 months ago

The admin dashboard is the first page you see after signing in. It is built from widgets rather than a fixed template, and the set of widgets adapts to your role, your plan, and the features you have turned on. Two companies, or two teammates with different roles, can see meaningfully different dashboards.

The four sections

The dashboard is organised into fixed sections, top to bottom:

SectionWhat it holds
Top zone (no heading)A greeting and quick actions, the Get set up checklist while you are still setting up, and an attention strip for anything that needs a look (an expiring trial, an unread support request).
Content performanceTraffic and content widgets, scoped to the knowledge base and date range you pick in the section header: 7, 14, 30, or 90 days.
Support & contactsDay-to-day support and contact widgets. These carry a Live · company-wide marker because they are always current and never filtered by the controls above.
WorkspaceTeam, billing, and general workspace summaries.

Why a widget appears or not

Widgets show only when they are relevant to you:

  • A widget tied to a feature (for example AI chat) appears once that feature is enabled and included in your plan.
  • Some widgets appear only once your company has a knowledge base of the matching type.
  • Each widget has a minimum role. On a more limited role, such as Viewer, admin-only widgets are not shown.

Customise your layout

Click Edit layout at the bottom of the page. Within each section you can drag widgets into a different order and hide the ones you do not need (the eye icon hides a widget). Click Done when you are finished. Section groupings are fixed: a widget always stays in its own section, and your layout is personal to you.

This orientation covers the dashboard shell only. For traffic, search terms, and article performance in depth, see the articles in Analytics & Insights.
