A screenshot at the right step saves a paragraph of explanation. The editor accepts images three ways, then lets you size, caption, and describe each one in place.
Add an image
| Method | How |
|---|---|
| Upload | Type / on an empty line, choose Image, and pick a file |
| Paste | Copy an image to your clipboard and paste it into the document |
| Drag and drop | Drop an image file from your desktop onto the editor |
A progress indicator shows while the file uploads. The finished image sits in its own block, so you can move it with the block handle like any other content.
Supported files
PNG, JPEG, GIF, and WebP files up to 10 MB are accepted. SVG files are rejected because they can carry embedded scripts. If you have an SVG, export it as PNG first.
Resize
Drag the resize handle on the image to scale it between 20% and 100% of the content width. Use full width for annotated screenshots and a narrower size for icons, dialogs, or anything a reader only needs to glance at.
Alt text and captions
Hover over the image to show its toolbar, then set:
- Alt text, which screen readers announce and browsers show if the image fails to load. Describe what the image shows and why it matters at that step, not what it looks like.
- Caption, an optional line shown beneath the image. Click the caption area under the image to edit it directly.
