Three settings shape what a customer sees when your reply lands in their mail client: the sender, a signature, and an optional acknowledgement that goes out the moment a new request arrives. All of them live in Settings > Inbox and save automatically as you edit.
These fields appear only while Enable email inbox is on. See Enable the inbox & receive support emails if you have not switched it on yet.
Sender name and address
The sending-domain card on the page carries the reply identity:
- Reply-from name: the display name on outgoing replies. If you leave it blank, HelpBento uses "Your company name Support". While you are on the shared HelpBento sending domain, " via HelpBento" is appended automatically, so customers see something like "Acme Support via HelpBento". On your own verified domain the name is used exactly as typed.
- Send from: read-only. It shows the mailbox and domain currently in use.
The address is resolved in this order:
| Order | Address | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your mailbox on your own verified domain, e.g. support@mail.yourcompany.com | You have connected and verified a sending domain |
| 2 | your-company-slug@mail.helpbento.com | The default for every company |
| 3 | support@helpbento.com | Only if the shared domain is unavailable and your company has no inbox address; this should not happen once the email inbox is on |
To move to tier 1, follow Configure a custom sending domain.
Signature
Type your sign-off in Email signature (for example "The Acme Support team"). It is appended to the bottom of every email reply, and to the auto-reply below. Leave it blank to use the default team sign-off.
Auto-acknowledgement
- Switch on Auto-reply to new requests.
- Write the text in Auto-reply message, for example "Thanks for reaching out. We've got your message and will reply within one business day."
The message is sent once, when a new email request arrives, so the customer knows it was received. Follow-up messages on the same conversation do not trigger it again. Your signature is added automatically.
