Once your inbound address is public, some of what arrives will be spam. Sender filtering drops it before a conversation is ever created. The controls live in the Spam filtering card at the bottom of Settings > Inbox, and appear once the email inbox is on.
Block a sender
- Under Blocked senders, type an address or a domain in Email or domain (for example
spam@example.comorexample.com). - Click Block.
Email from a blocked sender is dropped silently: no conversation, no bounce, no notification back to the sender.
Always allow a sender
- Under Always allow, enter the address or domain.
- Click Allow.
Allowed senders bypass spam filtering, with one exception: the blocklist always wins. If a sender matches both lists, the message is dropped.
To remove an entry from either list, click the bin icon next to it.
How matching works
| Entry | Matches |
|---|---|
A full address, e.g. jo@acme.com | That exact address only |
A domain, e.g. acme.com | Every address on that domain and on any of its subdomains, so jo@acme.com and jo@mail.acme.com both match |
A leading *. or . on a domain is ignored, since subdomains match regardless.
